What is it about vanity tables that makes us feel so girly? I've been obsessed with makeup tables since I was a child--I suppose because they epitomize to me grown-up glam and sophistication. And since I get the DIY/redecorating itch around this time every year, I've begun to plot a fun, sexy revamp for my vanity. Here are some ideas I've been loving!

The mirrored finish on this table is gorgeous. It just screams "Old Hollywood Glam" to me. And I never get tired of the gray and yellow color combination.

I love the idea of hanging a few small vintage mirrors, rather than one big mirror.

This setup is so lush and luxurious. I would never be brave enough to paint my walls black, but I love the black and gold lamps, the gold-framed mirror, the ornate paintings surrounding the mirror, and the crystal chandelier.

This is a DIY project waiting to happen. Pink and white = super girlie and fun. It looks like the brushes have been organized in painted drinking glasses? And a glass top for my table would really be handy.

Another mirrored vanity table! Is there any way to DIY this? I love it with the teal stool and the stacked globe lamps.

How fun are these hanging necklaces? Also feeling the gorgeous flowers and the perfume bottles arranged on the gold tray.

I really love the idea of hanging framed photographs and artwork around a vanity mirror. And I like the simplicity of this vanity table.

Thoughts? What are your favorite design elements for a vanity or makeup table?

  1. Can I move into all of those rooms? I personally love the more DIY/ custom look. I love having jewelry up on display since it is my favorite accessory. But sadly that takes up so much space. I know that the best thing to have is enough storage for everything. That is always the hardest since usually the super cute stuff never has enough storage.
